Jay was a board member of the auxiliary group Plugged In at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Northeast Ohio street team captain for Lost Highway Records, and a former board member of Friends of 91.3 The Summit. He is voting member of the Americana Music Association, and a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville
